Four words that are music to our ears! There are several ways you can help us build this ministry and see its vision come to fruition.
Partners in Prayer
For such a simple request, it can sometimes be the hardest one to remember! It is easy to get swept along in the momentum of a project or the desire to be successful in raising funds, but in all things, we need to look to Christ first for His guidance and strength.
Above all things, we ask for you to be our prayer warriors. No matter what we can do to improve the lives of these children in Haiti, it is nothing to what Christ has already accomplished to offer them eternal life. A large part of our mission is the great commission. In this home, the children are provided with the things they need to grow physically, academically, emotionally and spiritually.
Our specific prayer requests:
- Safety is always a concern in Haiti – pray for the children and for those travelling to volunteer at the home; also for the completion of the safety wall around the property.
- The needs are great in Haiti – pray for the growth of the ministry that more children can be brought into the home.
- Guidance for SLM leadership – pray that decisions are made in accordance with God’s will and that doors will be opened.
- Have a heart for Haiti – prayerfully consider becoming involved by becoming a monthly sponsor, donating money to fund building projects or visiting Haiti to volunteer your time at the home
Invite SLM to Visit Your Church or Group:
In addition to prayer partners, we need partners in the community. We ask that you consider allowing our director Jacques Merine to speak to your church or group. Source of Life Ministries offers a unique opportunity to see how our very own community is connected to this impoverished nation. Please give us the chance to speak to your members about our program and how they can become involved in the lives of these children.

Travel to Haiti
No amount of descriptive writing or photography can truly prepare you to witness the Haitian life first hand. If you want to become even more involved, or just gain a greater understanding of the work we are doing through this ministry, we urge you to consider traveling with us on a mission trip. Daily activities are based on the current projects and needs at the home, but there is always time for interaction with the children.
At this time, mission trips are scheduled based on interest. It is our hope to make them more often in accordance with Jacques’ travel schedule. He currently travels to Haiti a month at a time, every other month. Groups that travel down to work typically stay one week before traveling back to the U.S.
Haiti is one of the more affordable destinations for mission trips due to its proximity to the U.S. Passports are required, but a visa is not.
As interest grows and this portion of our ministry becomes more commonplace, we will post additional details on the site. In the meantime, please contact us via email to relay your interest and receive more information.
